Farewell Spring Interns

Ray Xiangrui Chen

1. What did you enjoy most about your internship at Compadre?

I really enjoyed the daily intern check-ins and wrap-up meetings with my wonderful mentors. Their insights and perspectives constantly surprised me and helped me grow both creatively and professionally.

2. What was your favorite project, and how did you contribute?

My favorite project was ESPN THE SHOW 2.0—I contributed some cel animation effects to it. It was an inspiring experience, and I had the chance to explore techniques I wouldn’t have tried on my own.

3. What was the most important or helpful thing you learned during your internship?

The most important and helpful lesson I’ve learned is to stay humble and actively engaged when receiving feedback. There were times I missed details or didn’t think things through fully,  but being open-minded made all the difference.

4. What one piece of advice would you give to future interns?

The most important and helpful lesson I’ve learned is to stay humble and actively engaged when receiving feedback. There were times I missed details or didn’t think things through fully,  being open-minded made all the difference.

1. What did you enjoy most about your internship at Compadre?

Being part of a client project and knowing that something I contributed to will eventually go on air is definitely something that excites me. But also just talking to our mentors and getting their opinions on my work was really fun and helpful.

2. What was your favorite project, and how did you contribute?

I enjoyed every project, but I especially liked the small internal animation projects. They felt like fun side quests that let me freely express my creativity.

3. What was the most important or helpful thing you learned during your internship?

Never hesitate to ask questions and always prioritize your tasks.

4. What one piece of advice would you give to future interns?

Starting something is always scary, but don’t let that stop you from asking questions and being part of the team. If you were chosen as an intern, it means you’re already capable of handling the work, so be confident. The mentors will always support you and give you helpful advice, so you’ll do great.
