GIFT RAP

When you’re The Worldwide Leader in Sports, your birthday parties tend to be a little cooler than the other kids. Case in point, to celebrate their 40th anniversary, ESPN tabbed Snoop Dogg and Queen Latifah to recreate the iconic track “Rapper’s Delight” (which also turned 40) with ESPN-specific lyrics.

MAKING 40 FLOW

We partnered with our client, Chris Mantzaris, who directed shoots with Snoop and Queen on location in Bristol. It was on us to transform this footage into two epic music videos that delivered on the scope of ESPN’s 40-year history. From editorial to copy, illustration to animation, our goal was to deliver content marketing that would get fans pumped for ESPN’s next 40 years.

KEEPING IT IN THE FAMILY

Taking inspiration from graffiti and hip-hop culture, we created custom illustrations and animations that made Snoop and Queen Latifah’s lyrics pop off the screen. On top of that, we developed two unique editorial styles that empowered each music video to feel related, yet stand on their own.
