It’s hard to believe, but TUF is in its 29th season. The show has developed a fervent fanbase over the years, so ESPN decided it was time to create a recap show after each episode, where a host, fighters, and fans can talk about and react to what happened each week.
We designed a hero mark for the show that packs a punch, has a human imperfection to it, and captures the energy and excitement of TUF.
A full in-show graphic toolkit was built as well, including opens, transitions, backgrounds, mortises, and video boxes. The identity takes inspiration from the fabrics and materials found in MMA gyms — tape, ropes, gym walls — to establish a gritty, fight-inspired tone for the show.
LAUNCHING AT THE LAUNCH PARTY
We translated the After TUF logo and graphic toolkit for a custom set of deliverables build specifically for a Launch Party special event, which served as a 30-minute introduction to Season 29 of TUF.
