Our messaging positioned the election as a heavyweight bout of sorts, with all of the noise and craziness leading up to this one final standoff. The hero line “Be Here”, a nod to CNN’s tagline “Go There,” is packed with drama and positions CNN as the ultimate destination to get the insights, analysis, and up-to-the-second results you need on election day.
ONE CONCEPT, MULTIPLE VERTICALS
Knowing that this package was going to live on all sections of CNN’s site, we wanted to customize assets to stretch across different verticals. We tailored copy and design to fit not only the home page, but also specific options for the Business, Health, and World sections.
DESIGNED FROM CAMPAIGN TRAIL TO ELECTION DAY
Having already designed the identity for CNN’s election campaign, we wanted to maintain the essence of that package to draw a clear connection while still giving election day its own distinct visual language. Namely, we utilized the highlighter effect that was prominently featured in our campaign package to draw the eye to the most prominent issues being discussed.
