With post season just around the corner, baseball fans are ready to see who has what it takes to win it all. ESPN came to us to write, design, and put together a :30 spot for the 2023 MLB Wild Card starting in October.
HANGING BY A THREAD
For our script, we wanted to create a balance between the feeling of a team’s season hanging by a thread, and the excitement and unpredictability that is baseball. This approach allowed us to make a spot that focused on player’s big moments, and also creating a hopeful message.
LITERALLY, HANGING BY A THREAD
The phrase “hanging by a thread” became a crucial theme in our spot, and what better way to keep the theme going than creating literal threads. Our design team got to work creating a 3D renders of threads tangled into one another to use in our spot. That along with a render of the world series trophy, added an extra layer of drama to this spot.
