STEPPING UP TO THE PLATE

Fun fact: There are 297 NCAA Division 1 baseball teams, and 286 NCAA Division 1 softball teams. If our math checks out that…well, that’s a lot of players, traditions, and possible matchups.

We partnered with ESPN to create an in-game identity for their college “diamond sports” coverage that could celebrate the colors and personalities of each team, yet still ladder up to a cohesive system.

CELBRATING PERSONALITIES & TRADITION

Each school has its own iconic imagery and traditions, so we wanted to make sure we built an identity that was personality-forward.

BUILDING A FLEXIBLE SYSTEM

With so many variables, customizability was the key to building a successful system for ESPN. The delivery needed to be seamless as well, so trucks can update GFX on the fly mid-game.

POSTERS ON POSTERS ON POSTERS

Remember how cool that old Ken Griffey Jr. poster was that you had hanging in your room? Well, we built 12 custom posters for each team, and rendered them so they can feel alive during the broadcast.

IN-STUDIO ELEMENTS

Along with the in-game package, we also delivered elements that brought a cohesive look & feel to ESPN’s in-studio coverage of NCAA baseball and softball.
