Online Poker Is Back
Pokerstars is making its way back into the hearts of Americans that have missed what once was their favorite pastime: more chances to win. As poker fans ourselves, we understood that in order for Pokerstars to reach a new demographic of Americans, they needed a campaign that could spread the word quickly and build excitement among new and existing players. It’s no wonder why Pokerstars and Compadre were a perfect pair for this campaign.
It’s Scripting Time
FoxBet hit us up to bring the world of Pokerstars to life! We wrote scripts that brought attention to the important features of the Pokerstars app like community, accessibility, and all the chances players have for a big win. Our scripts were engaging and captured all the fun in the world of Pokerstars.
Let's Get the Story Right
With our scripts in hand, it was time to start creating storyboards for the shoot. Our storyboards show a montage of people, in different places, opening the app on their phone and transported to a poker table. This illustrates the ability to be a star poker player from wherever you are.
A Little Help From Thunder And Haymaker
With some help from the Swedish VFX shop Haymaker, we took our storyboards and developed a virtual poker room that’s sure to make any poker fan swoon. In order to transport our players to this room, we headed over to Thunder Studios to load up our poker room onto an XR stage to capture our characters in this new world (XR meaning extended reality). Fun fact this is the same type of stage used for the Mandalorian!
Our second day of shooting took us to Studio City to capture a mix of residential and outdoor step ups.

We made sure to get some BTS on both days of shooting to capture all the fun.

We conceptualized, shot, and edited a brand AV spot that reconnects players to the Pokerstars app, and reminds them they can take poker with them anywhere at any time!
